We are very proud to announce that our three latest projects, The Barney Building, 1900 Building and The 2400 Building have all achieved LEED GOLD certification! LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, and the US Green Building Council website gives a great overview as to how LEED certification is obtained.
With all three buildings, we went through extra efforts to achieve the highest and best in sustainable design, replacing old windows with low-e energy efficient glass, LED lighting on sensors throughout, all new HVAC, new roofing systems, and in the case of The Barney Building, we installed Capstone microturbine generators that actually run on natural gas. The buildings also all have fitness rooms, complete with showers and bike racks in the parking lots. Each one of these items gains you points, then once totaled up, they determine what level you achieve. Again, we are proud of this certification and hope to keep building green!
